MAYTAG claims the figure-of-eight “butterfly” drying system offered by its latest three-model range of 600mm tumble dryers goes beyond that of its competitors in terms of efficiency and effectiveness.

It stops clothes bundling and so reduces creasing and the need for ironing, says the company. In addition, the machines carry Auto Dry and SensiDry programs that use intelligent sensors to adapt the drying program to the task.

Energy ratings are B and C on machines that are claimed to have very low noise levels of 46dB and an optional pedestal and drawer are available.

Heading the range is the integrated MTD 07SCIIA sensor, condenser dryer finished in stainless steel (pictured), which retails at around £1,000. This offers customisable door options and features the company’s Electronic Line Series LCD display.

The other two dryers are freestanding sensor, condenser models – the £850 MTD 07SCFIB available in stainless steel and the £700 MTD 07SCFIC in a choice of stainless steel or gloss black.

The machines are claimed to be built to professional standards. The stainless steel 112-litre (7kg) drums use ball-bearing suspension and high-quality motors for smoother, quieter operation and longer life. Other notable features include a jeans program, an airing/refresh option and an anti-crease setting.
