| NAD masters high-definition | |
| 21 January 2010 NAD’s Masters Series M15HD surround-sound preamplifier is said to be an HD edition of the company’s M15 surround-sound preamplifier. It is built around NAD’s new modular design construction (MDC) architecture and is configured with a VXP broadcast-quality image processor by Sigma Designs. It is said to improve performance, functionality and ease of use, while protecting against premature obsolescence. The company also claims that it allows users to add new, advanced features from NAD more quickly and economically, as well as simplifying servicing. It has four HDMI inputs and NAD’s special Masters Series home-theatre remote – an eight-device, illuminated learning control with an LCD display that can learn commands for additional components. Easily removable AV modules include circuitry for digital audio and HDMI functions, component and analogue video functions, and two-channel and multi-channel analogue audio functions, plus all the inputs /outputs needed for full connectivity. This model includes an RS232 interface for advanced custom installations, 12V triggers (one in and three out) for advanced control options, 3.5mm IR control jacks (one in and three out), an AV output for a second zone and remote control. It also has four HDMI 1.3 repeaters, lip-sync compensation, flexible bass management and individual crossover frequencies for front, centre, and surround speakers. It has four dual-differential 24bit, 192kHz digital-to-analogue converters, Dynamic Headroom Scaling for optimum resolution and digital tone controls, plus separate power supplies for the digital and analogue circuitry. It is available this month at around £4,000. Armour Home.01279 50111.
