Freesat, the free-to-air satellite TV service, has announced the shortlist for its inaugural Freesat Awards, which are to be held in London next Wednesday (May 20).

In the ERT ‘Take a Town’ Independent Retailer of the Year category, the shortlisted nominees are Burden Electronics, Swindon; Grices, Nottingham; Hickmans, Swindon; Paul Green Hi-Fi, Bath; and Sevenoaks Sound & Vision; Bristol.

In the Multiple Retailer of the Year category, Argos, Comet, Currys, John Lewis and Maplin will go head-to-head.

Freesat said its Awards will recognise “the outstanding contribution that Freesat partners have made to the platform’s success in its first year”.
